STUDENT-TO-STUDENT CONNECTIONS

Friendship Quilt Project – Student Writings

Topic:  What membership in Global Care means to the students

  • Global Care Unlimited helps people around the world.
  • Global Care isn’t just some club that people go to three times a week, it is a mission.
  • Being part of Global Care means that I am part of the world.
  • Global Care is a family. We all are going out of our way to do something for the world. To be part of something like this is an honor.
  • Global Care allows me to reach out with the compassion I have, and use it, to a potential that I could not use before.
  • Global Care is the place where there are no limitations.
  • Global Care Unlimited empowers me to become a better person.
  • Global Care shows that you want to be part of the world and where you can offer your support.
  • Friendship and kindness fuels everyone here.
  • We are helping people halfway around the world, which seems almost impossible.
  • Global Care is here so we can help those in need.
  • Global Care means helping kids across the world to try to enhance their lifestyles.
  • Global Care is the joining of different people through one common cause.
  • Global Care is doing what seems impossible.
  • Global care gives me the energy and the feeling that can make me change the world.
  • Global care unites my mind, body and my spirit, together to form a conscious soul.
  • Global Care is making a difference for people all over the world.
  • Global Care taught me what a true humanitarian is: someone who not only gives, but gives their all.
  • Global Citizenship is not just a class or club; it’s more of a way of life.
  • Global Care means to lend a hand to people here and people across the world.  We think of others and do things we can never imagine doing.  We have a group of hard-working, compassionate people that want to lend a hand.
  • Global care is the gateway to my dream.
  • Global Care unlocks something in my life, so that I can be able to use it for the good of the people around the world.
  • The reason why I participate in Global Care is to enlighten and educate people and hopefully make a difference in the world we all live in.
  • I want to help students to learn and grow into people who will change the world.

Topic:  Power of Education

  • Education is the driving force of this world.
  • Education is the gateway to success in every area of life.

Topic:  Inspirational and Supportive Wishes for the EAFS students

  • You have a chance to make the world different, to make a change and make the world better.
  • You are the future.
  • I believe in you, and so does all of Global Care Unlimited.   You just have to believe in yourself.
  • Making a difference isn’t easy but if you believe, it can happen.
  • You can and you will. We can and we will. Now, let’s do it.
  • We can defy all borders, stifle all things that tell us “no.”

Topic:  Global Citizenship

  • I’m a global citizen, and I’m proud of helping build the Ethio-American Friendship School.
  • We are all Global Citizens, whose job is to help and care for those in need.
  • Global Citizenship is to love, care, and help everyone around us, not only the people we know.
  • One step at a time, we, as global citizens, will help the world.
  • We do not have to see the people we help.
  • It makes me proud to say that I have helped the global community flourish.
  • As humans we are responsible to help each other and take care of the planet.

Topic:  Youth Making a Difference/Empowerment

  • If we don’t start contributing as a kid, we may never help the world.
  • The Ethio-American Friendship School is more than just a school: it’s a monument to youth having power in the world.
  • Connected by a spark, a dream, something engulfing me to help change the world.

Topic:  Compassion

  • You only need a heart to help.
  • It is important for us all to make a difference.
  • There are people thousands of miles away from us who would be so happy for the things we take for granted.
  • There are no limits to caring.
  • I want to help those in need.

Connections

  • We are connected by the single string of the Ethio-American Friendship School.
  • Thousands of miles away and here we are making connections to people we have never met.
  • Our connection is a bond.
  • We are all the same: We have friends, we have family and fun.  The only thing that separates us is a plane ride to visit each other.
  • I want to meet you as my friend and spend a lifetime knowing you better.
  • I may never see you, ever meet you, but we are still connected.
  • Let’s make this journey a lasting one.
  • Those children in Africa that we have never even met, that we go out of our way to help, they are our brothers and sisters.
  • We can share this dream together.
  • We are here for you.
  • Together, we have the power to connect.
  • To everyone else, it seems far away, but to us, all it takes is stretching out our arms.
